Vac-Alert VA-2000 SVRS Installation Procedures, Follow all Manufacturer’s Installation Instructions.

(Read Installation Manual in its Entirety Prior to Installing SVRS)

1.     The Vac-Alert SVRS must be installed vertically.

2.     Install the Vac-Alert close to the pump, preferably within five feet.

3. Install the Vac-Alert on the main drain line.

4. Install a VA-2000 L unit where the pump is located less than 24 inches below, or up to 42 inches above, the pool or spa water level.

5. Install a VA-2000 S unit where the pump is located deeper than 24
inches below the pool or spa water level.

6.  Vac-Alert recommends the installation and periodic use of a quick-close, full port test valve between the main drain & the SVRS.

7.  When testing the VA-2000, all valves except the main drain must be closed.

8.  For installations where the presence of a hydro-static valve is not known, for initial testing during installation, or for seasonal start-up, a mat test on the main drain (s) must be preformed, three (3) consecutive times.

9.  If an existing hydro-static valve interferes with SVRS operation, remove the hydro-static valve and replace with a threaded plug. Post a notice on the pump room wall and notify the pool owner and operator that the hydro-static valve has been removed. To confirm proper SVRS operation, repeat the mat test on the main drain (s) three (3) consecutive times as per manufacturer’s  instructions.
