Top Priority for Public Pools:
All pool/spa drain covers manufactured or sold must meet ASME/ANSI standard A112.19.8
All public pools/spas must be equipped with anti-entrapment type drain covers
Certain public pools/spas must be equipped with additional anti-entrapment devices or systems; one of six options can be used
Effective Date: Dec. 19, 2008
 
All drain covers mentioned in this Texas Main Drain Summary Chart are obsolete. Only Suction Outlet Covers (Anti-Entrapment Type) meeting the ASME/ANSI A112.19.8 (2007) are compliant to the CPSC Safety Act.
